SSH-RT

Type

SSH

Use the SSH2 protocol. Supported features:

  • diffie-hellman-group-exchange-sha1, diffie-hellman-group14-sha1, diffie-hellman-group1-sha1, and diffie-hellman-group-exchange-sha256 key exchange methods
  • 3des-cbc, aes128-cbc, aes192-cbc, aes256-cbc, aes128-ctr, aes192-ctr, aes256-ctr, blowfish-cbc and cast128-cbc encryptions
  • hmac-md5 and hmac-sha1 message authentication algorithms
  • private key, keyboard-interactive and password authentication methods
  • RSA and DSA private keys in OpenSSH format
  • DES-EDE3-CBC, DES-EDE3-CFB, DES-CBC, AES-128-CBC, AES-192-CBC and AES-256-CBC algorithms for private key encryption

Telnet

Use the Telnet protocol.

Port

The network port to use. Typically, SSH is done on port 22, and Telnet is done on port 23, but any can be used.

Terminal

Sets the TERM variable, used by the remote host to determine what control set to use. The default key mappings attempt to use the most common standards for each Terminal type, but host can still vary. The key mappings for each Terminal type can be changed from Settings->Key Mappings.

Available emulation modes:

  • linux
  • screen
  • ansi
  • vt100
  • xterm

Columns

The number of columns of the virtual terminal. The original VT100 terminal used 80 or 132 columns modes, but modern implementations are not limited.

  • 80
  • 132
  • 160
  • 200

Buffer

The number of rows to store in the scroll back buffer. The entire buffer can be save to a file through the context menu (Ctr+I or Right Click) of the current terminal window.

  • 2048
  • 16384
  • 32768

Authentication

Password Authentication

You will be prompted for username and password during the User Authentication process.

Keyboard-Interactive Authentication

You will be prompted by the remote host. It is common for the remote host to simply prompt for Username and Password. This is the default authentication method used by Mac OSX host.

Private Key Authentication

Private Keys need to be in OpenSSH format. RSA and DSA (with or without passphrase) are supported. If a passphrase is required, you will be prompt during the User Authentication process. The file extension can be .txt, .pem or .key

Example RSA Private Key using a passphrase encrypted by the DES-EDE3-CBC cypher:

-----BEGIN RSA PRIVATE KEY-----
Proc-Type: 4,ENCRYPTED
DEK-Info: DES-EDE3-CBC,61B34F8CA0C4694B

KeyMappings

Local Paste

Control-V is the Windows default for Paste from Clipboard. Setting this option to None allows the CTRL-V keystroke to be sent to the host, instead of the contents of the clipboard.

Per Terminal

The default key mappings attempt to use the most common standards for each Terminal type, but host can still vary. These settings are "live", so you can test your settings in real-time. The Terminal selector automatically shows the currently active sessions type. Settings are saved automatically.

Import/Export

Load(Import) and Save(Export) your Saved Connections. Save to the Cloud with SkyDrive, to easily share between devices.
